CodeImp's Doom Builder
This revolutionary map editor introduced the 3D real-time editing mode in the classic Doom community. Much like Duke Nukem's Build editor, you can draw your maps in 2D and edit them in 3D. Doom Builder's interface and high-level methods were written in Visual Basic 6, while the low-level methods (such as 2D rendering and BSP tree processing) were written in C. The editor uses configuration files that contain the specifics for different games for which one can edit maps with this editor. The 3D mode is rendered using Microsoft DirectX.
